WHEEL FLATS AND OUT OF ROUNDNESS WHEEL DETECTION SYSTEM

Automatic measurement system makes it possible to classify the wheel tread surface condition by detecting wheel flats and out of round wheels. Software delivered with the system provides the possibility to manage information about the rolling stock, storing their life history, visualization of classes of the out of roundness of wheels, and also generation of the wheel wear reports.

The measurement system built into the track is maintenance free. The measurement signals are collected and analysed by the autonomous control system. The measurement results are downloaded automatically through a wireless link, to the remote operator’s computer. The wagons are automatically identified and the measurement results are saved for each wheel. The system database stores the historical measurement data and other information pertaining to life history and servicing of wheels – including turning the bogies.
